Washington, Dec 1 (Prensa Latina) Electoral College members in the state of Colorado today continue their efforts to create a non-profit organization to try to block Donald Trump as the new president of the United States.

Michael Baca, one of the Democrat members of the College, presented a document at the Colorado Secretary of State's office to create the 'Hamilton Voters' group, capable of raising unlimited donations from individuals, corporations and trade unions at political events.

According to The Denver Post, the aim of the new group is to convince Republican and Democratic voters, to unify behind a Republican alternative for president or force a stagnation of the Electoral College.

Baca explained that several Democrat voters and one Republican have committed officially to the movement and they are in talks with four other Republicans.

So far, more than three million Americans have signed a petition at the US Electoral College, in call for the recognition of Hillary Clinton's victory in the U.S. elections by December 19th.

The petition, made via the digital website change.org, proposes that, when members of the Electoral College of each state formalize their decision regarding the candidates who competed in the recent elections, they will so in favor of Hillary Clinton, because she was the winner of the popular vote.

The Democrat overcame Trump for more than 2.3 million popular votes, according to the most recent poll results. However, in the voting by the Electoral College Trump accumulated 306 ballots, whereas Clinton has 232.

According to the signatories, Trump 'is not fit' for the job because he 'misled so many Americans, and his impulsiveness, intimidation, lies, history of sexual assaults, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the country.'
