US Security Strategy Sees China, Russia as Main Challenges
The national security strategy of the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump, released today, points Russia and China as the two main challengers to US global power.
According to the document, published by the White House minutes before an intervention of the president on the subject, those two countries 'are determined to make economies less free and less fair, to grow their militaries, and to control information and data to repress their societies and expand their influence.'
We will promote a balance of power that favors the United States, our allies and partners, states the initiative, made public almost 11 months after Republican ruler was established at the White House.
'We will never lose sight of our values and their capacity to inspire, elevate and renew. More than anything, we will serve the U.S. people and defend their right to a government that prioritizes their security, prosperity and interests, 'he says.
This 55-page proposal also states that the current administration is committed to cooperating with allies and partners to curb the nuclear program of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
