According to Blankspot, Uzbeki’s asylum application was rejected in June and she has been ordered to leave the country.

A 106-year-old woman, Bibihal Uzbeki, is reportedly among a group of asylum seekers set to be deported from Sweden.

The Local reports that the woman, who is known as the “world's oldest refugee,” fled Afghanistan two years ago.

According to Blankspot, Uzbeki’s asylum application was rejected in June and she has been ordered to leave the country along with all other rejected Afghan refugees.

“There is no doubt that the security situation in Afghanistan is serious. At the same time, we have assessed that levels in the conflict vary within and between different provinces in the country. Conflict has thus not reached a level where it affects everyone throughout the country,” Fredrik Beijer, Head of Legal Affairs at the Migration Board explained.

She will appeal the decision in the Migration Court, however.

In 2015, Uzbeki traveled with 17 members of her family through Iran, Turkey, Greece and Croatia before ending up in Skaraborg, Sweden where she applied for asylum.

She walked for 20 days to get to the refugee camp. “My legs hurt, but I'm fine,” Uzbeki expressed at the time.

But, her 67-year-old son and 19-year-old grandson took turns carrying her on their backs through the multi-nation trek. “We had problems many times. I suffered a lot,” she said. “I fell and injured my head. I have scars on my head.”

There have been several protests against Stockholm's decision to expel the asylum seekers, in recent months.

More than 260,000 migrants and refugees have arrived in Croatia since mid-September when Hungary closed its border with Serbia to stop the influx. A significant proportion of them do not want to stay in eastern Europe – they want to reach rich western and northern countries with advantageous asylum laws.
