83 Percent Brazilians Want Direct Elections, Shows Poll

The data are the result of a survey conducted between 21 and 23 of the currents by the Datafolha Institute among more than 2,700 people in 194 cities in the country, barely 12 percent of which was in favor that the new head of the Executive is elected by the Congress.

This evaluation is aggravated among women, youngsters and the poorest. The classification of bad or dreadful rises to 73 percent among the female electorate, 74 among citizens aged 25 to 34 and 71 among those who have a monthly family income of up to two minimum wages.

In the Northeast region of Brazil, reported the Brazil 247 online newspaper, the Temer government's disapproval climbs to 77 percent, while in the South it decreases up to 61 percent.
