The Argentinean football star Lionel Messi tops the list of the world''s best 100 players published today in the British newspaper The Guardian.
The F.C. Barcelona player leads the sixth ranking made by the newspaper, in which 169 football experts participated, including prestigious players and coaches from all over the world.
Some of the most outstanding personages who participated in the creation of the list were the Brazilian goal-scorer Ronaldo Luis Nazario and the Argentinean player Hernán Crespo, as well as Javier Zanetti, Patrik Andersson, Luca Antonini and Quinton Fortune.
It is not the first time this year that a British publication chooses Messi despite the campaign in favor of Cristiano Ronaldo, who won FIFA's Golden Ball and The Best awards.
A few weeks ago, the prestigious magazine Four Four Two also published a list of the world's top 100 football players, who were led by Messi as well.
