In addition to its extensive range of German domestic and European flights, Eurowings is steadily expanding its international portfolio.

It’s now possible to travel to the Cuban capital Havana with one flight a week from Cologne/Bonn.

Starting on December 15th, 2016, the route will be operated with a state-of-the-art Airbus A330.

The Havana offer is part of the German airline’s continuing route development on the American continent.

The latest destination in North America since Wednesday is Boston, an ideal base for visiting top US spots such as New York, Philadelphia and Washington.

Havana, with over two million inhabitants, is the largest city in the Caribbean and is located on the Bay of Havana between the Atlantic Ocean and the Straits of Florida.

Old Havana, originally founded by the Spanish, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982.

Since then, the city’s historic centre has been completely rehabilitated and will be refinanced by tourism.

The number of foreign visitors has been growing rapidly since the 90s with tourism currently being one of the city’s most important economic sectors.

Havana is the cultural centre of Cuba and offers a wide range of attractions – museums, palaces, colonial-style public squares, avenues, churches, fortresses (including the largest fortification built by the Spanish in America), ballet, cinemas and theatres.
