A total of 25 countries from Latin America and Europe confirmed their participation at the 21st Romerias de Mayo International Festival, which will take place in the province of Holguin, from May 2 to 8.

The event, epicenter for young artists, is one of the largest Cuban holidays by the plurality of its demonstrations and events, Ana Teresa Carbonell, Event Manager of the Agency for Cultural Tourism Paradiso SA, said at a press conference.

She noted that the main activities will be the traditional ascent of the Axe of Holguin to La Cruz Hill, the pilgrimage to the Town Hall and Planting the Tree of Friendship, among other actions.

Similarly, she stressed that this celebration will include debates about the universality of regional cultures, as well as a tribute to different founding fathers of Latin America.

With an annual consolidation, this event enhances the confluence of the artistic vanguards of Cuba and the world, becoming thus a festival for artistic youth from around the world and keeping an eye on respect for diversity.

Convened by the Hermanos Saiz Association, the meeting will hold major concerts, performances, simultaneous exhibitions, workshops, public dances and various socio-cultural reflection sessions in the Interactive Social Forum.

It will also include multiple events like the Memoria Nuestra Award, dedicated to the universe of regional cultures and the experiences of artistic community intervention.
