The pair will be directed by Antoine Fuqua, who also directed “Training Day.”

Washington won an Oscar for his role in that film, for which Hawke was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category.

Chris Pratt and Haley Bennett are also slated for the all-star cast.

The new movie will be produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, or MGM, and reboots the classic tale of seven gunslingers hired by villagers to protect them from a group of outlaws.

True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto and John Lee Hancock (of “The Blind Side”) will rework the original script for the new film.

“The Magnificent Seven” (1960) saw John Sturges direct a stellar cast including Yul Brynner, Eli Wallach, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and James Coburn.

Itself an adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s film “Seven Samurai,” the movie’s score was nominated for Best Score of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture.
