Cuban pianist Frank Fernandez announced today that he will offer a concert at the National Museum of Fine Arts in this Caribbean country on September 23.

In the theater room of the Cuban Art building, the experienced musician will play works by the Austrian Franz Schubert, the Polish Federico Chopin, the Cuban Ernesto Lecuona and his own repertoire, such as the themes of Love of the Great Rebellion and the soap opera Tierra Brava.

Fernandez is considered the father of the Cuban pianist school because his disciples, without attending foreign conservatories, have conquered 27 international prizes.

Critics of several continents praise the virtuosity of the graduated pianist with gold title at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Moscow.

So far he is the only Cuban who holds the Pushkin Medal, granted directly by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.

With more than 200 prizes in the curriculum, Fernández has gained prestige as a versatile musician, since his own compositions surpass the 650 in different formats: ballets, choirs, soundtracks for cinema, radio, television and arrangements for popular music groups.
