Havana, Apr 13 (Prensa Latina) After several days of debate about the seventh art in Latin America, the 10th Alfredo Guevara in Memoriam Film Week came to an end in the Cuban eastern city of Holguin, its traditional venue.

Dedicated to the founder of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), the initiative reached cultural and student centers throughout the country and also paid tribute to the Revolution's historic leader, Fidel Castro, and Ernesto Che Guevara for the 50th anniversary of his death.

Participants analyzed the presence of these personalities in the regional cinema as well as the ties of this art with other manifestations such as literature, painting and theater.

Among the films exhibited are Clandestinos and El hombre de Maisinicú, by prominent Cuban filmmakers Fernando Pérez and Manuel Pérez, respectively.

The program also included Che: un Hombre Nuevo (Che: A New Man), from Argentine Tristan Bauer, Diarios de Motocicleta (The Motorcycle Diaries), from the Brazilian Walter Sales, and the miniseries Cuba: Caminos de Revolución (Roads of Revolution).

Likewise, a selection of the 16th Youth Exhibition of the ICAIC, materials made in the University of the Arts and other houses of high studies of the country was exhibited, stated the member of the national secretariat of the Federation of University Students, Alejandro Pérez, in declarations to the Cuban News Agency.
