Hillary Clinton spotted out at dinner with Kate McKinnon, who impersonates her on SNL

Hillary Clinton, who has been spotted out and about enjoying New York City's social scene recently, was seen at dinner with Kate McKinnon.

The former presidential hopeful and the comedian who impersonates her on Saturday Night Live were dining at Orso restaurant in NYC.

As they ate 'rustic but Italian-inspired food' together they apparently had a lot to talk - and laugh - about.

“Lots of laughter emanated from their table,” a diner told Page Six.

Many on social media were excited to see the two together.

After spending some quiet time with her family, Hillary Clinton has been spending time on the social circuit in New York City.

She has been welcomed with open arms by Broadway, getting a standing ovation at both recent shows she has attended.

First, she went to see In Transit with her husband, and then saw Sunset Boulevard.

The audience applauded and cheered when they realised who was sitting among them, and she even had a standing ovation.

One audience member wrote: "There she is in all her glory tonight. Made for a great experience".

Another gushed: "My political icon and I was only 20 feet away. Face crack, jaw dropped, shed a tear when she walked in. Thank you Hillary for being you!"

It seems unlikely Donald Trump will be spotted dining with his SNL counterpart Alec Baldwin, or that Sean Spicer will share spaghetti with Melissa McCarthy, but one can but hope.
