Barbados'' Health Minister John Boyce is on a visit to Cuba to analyze the relations between both countries, the Cuban Foreign Ministry reported today.

His agenda includes discussions on the exchange of professionals, training opportunities, assessment of primary-health-care programs, treatment for cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer and HIV-AIDS.

The official, who will meet with Cuban Health Minister Roberto Morales to deal with these issues, will participate in the 1st Regional Meeting on the subject of Zika and virus transmitted diseases, which will begin tomorrow in Havana sponsored by Cuba and the Pan-American Health Organization.

A Cuban Foreign Ministry statement stressed that before leaving his country bound for Havana, Boyce held a meeting with the Cuban ambassador to Barbados, Francisco Fernandez.

Barbadian Health Vice Minister Tennyson Springer and other officials from the ministry, as well as Environment Minister Desmond King, who is a member of the delegation visiting Cuba, participated in the meeting.
