Cuban youth pays tribute to Commander Hugo Chavez

The Cuban youth, on behalf of its people, will pay tribute to its eternal friend, Venezuelan Commander Hugo Chavez.

At the Morro-Cabaña Historical Military Park, the Youth Communist League (UJC) and other students’ organizations will celebrate the 62^nd anniversary of the birth of the “best friend of Cuba”, as the historical leader of the Cuba Revolution described him once.

The ceremony, according to the UJC leaders, will portray the life, achievements, and deeds of the Venezuelan Commander-President and Fidel Castro, due to his 90^th birthday on August 13th.

Along with Havana’s youth, Aleida Guevara —daughter of Commander Ernesto “Che” Guevara— and Dr. Jorge Gonzalez Perez —head of the teaching department at the Ministry of Public Health— will participate. All will debate about the historical friendship between Chavez and Fidel —two paramount leaders of progressive movements in Latin America and the world. Through the cultural project “Los amigos del Amigo”, the UJC celebrates both revolutionary leaders, known as true sons of the ideas and principles of Simon Bolivar and Jose Marti.
