Cuba and Nicaragua collaborates in the education field

Representatives from the Cuban embassy in Nicaragua attended the opening of the 2016 academic year at the Republic of Cuba School. Cuba will sponsor such center in the education field.

Cuban ambassador Eduardo Martinez confirmed the news. He also highlighted the role played by the solidarity group Amigos de Cuba in the setting of such link. The members of this group studied in Cuba back in the 1980s.

Candida Lopez, head of the Association Amigos de Cuba —which gathers former Nicaraguan students in Cuba— noted the importance of fostering the relation and provide students with all required knowledge.

Doreida Ovando, deputy director of the school, explained that the school name has to do with the neighborhood, which was named Sierra Maestra as a tribute to Cuba.
