Cuba and Norway reiterated their willingness to contribute to the construction of a stable and lasting peace in Colombia, through talks between the guerrilla and the government of the South American government taking place here. Both sides called the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC-EP) and the government to continue efforts in the discussion of pending issues, including the adoption of an agreement for a definitive bilateral ceasefire and hostilities.

In a joint statement released yesterday at the Conference Center in Havana, the guarantors of the peace process expressed concern about the current intensity of the armed conflict in that South American nation, while regretted the loss of human lives reported in recent days.

Never before since the beginning of the conflict, the Colombians were so near to achieve peace, hence to preserve progresses achieved in the agenda is important.

The intensity of violent actions also jeopardizes the practical efforts to reduce the intensity of the war and increase the confidence such as cleaning and decontamination of the territory of anti-personnel mines, unexploded devices and explosive remnants of war.
