China, Cuba Communist Parties Conduct High-Level Exchange

High-level representatives of the Communist Parties of China and Cuba highlighted today the excellent state of bilateral relations and both parties willingness to continue developing them in a full and comprehensive manner. The issue was addressed by Salvador Valdes Mesa, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and Vice President of the State Council, during talks with Liu Yunshan, one of the seven members of the Permanent Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC.

Liu, who is secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), recalled the visits to China of Cuban President Raul Castro and President Xi Jinping to Cuba last year and stressed the importance of implementing the important agreements reached in both moments.

A press release from the Cuban Embassy in Beijing states that the fraternal exchange revealed "the excellent state of bilateral relations with deep historical roots' and mutual willingness to continue developing them. The parties agreed on the main political aspects and the importance of continuing the exchange of experiences on the process of socialist construction, starting from the specific realities of each country.

According to the official version, Liu and Valdes Mesa exchanged views on relevant issues of the international agenda.

In this meeting held in the context of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two leaders agreed that the links between the CPC and the CCP are an important component, while they are one of the pillars of bilateral relations.

Communist leaders of China and Cuba took stock of the links between the two countries ratified the importance of exchanges between the two parties at the highest level and discussed future prospects of relations, which are at their best historical moment.
