Tokyo, Nov 20.- Representatives of Public Health and Foreign Trade of Cuba visited Japan invited by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), with wide exchange of impressions and visits to interest sites, it was reported today. A press release from the Cuban embassy in this nation announced that the group was led by Deputy Public Health Minister Alfredo Gonzalez and made up of representatives of the Ministry for Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment.

Their working agenda included meetings with executives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Japan Medical Excellence entity, attached to the office of the Prime Minister and JICA.

The Cuban visitors toured different hospitals and leading companies linked to development, manufacture and marketing of advanced medical technologies, many of them, with important presence in the Cuban health system.

During their stay, the group talked about the organization of a Seminar on Cooperation in the area of medical devices, in which the deputy minister talked of the main characteristics of the Cuban health and electro medicine systems.

The visit of the Cuban delegation is part of the framework for mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of advanced medical technologies, established in Japan in 2013.
