Cuban condolences on death of Iranian sailors

The Cuban official, who was at the Iranian embassy in Havana on Wednesday, also expressed sympathy with the families of the victims that died in the crash of the Sanchi tanker, and signed the memorial book at the Iranian embassy.

A Chinese cargo ship carrying wheat collided with the Iranian oil tanker carrying 130,000 tons of gas condensates on January 6, 2018 in East China Sea.

All 32 crew members of the tanker, including 2 Bangladeshi nationals, were killed in the incident.

Sierra said that Cuba and its people are beside the Iranian government and people in the tragic incident.

Hector Igarza Cabrera, director of the Northern Africa and Middle East Department at the Cuban Foreign Ministry also signed the book to extend his condolences to the families of the victims.

Some other senior Cuban officials, including speaker of Cuba's parliament and head of Cuba-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group Pedro Victor Simon Rodriguez signed the memorial book at the Iranian embassy and extended their condolences to Iran's government and families of the victims.
