Cuban ambassador to Guinea Bissau, Tomas Lorenzo Gomez thanked the Health Minister of the African nation Carlitos Barai, for its support to the work of the Cuban medical brigade in the past year, allowing the reopening of the School of Medicine in the region of Gabu and improve the living conditions of the staff.

An update of the Medical Cooperation Agreement was signed between both Health Ministers in the embassy of Guinea Bissau in Havana.

The Cuban diplomat said that the signing of the document is an example of the excellent friendship and cooperation relations between both government and peoples, reported CubaMinrex website.

Carlitos Barai highlighted Cuba's solidarity gesture and expressed on behalf of its people and government the gratitude for Cuba's assistance during the past decades, as in the attention of the patients and the training of its professionals in the Raul Diaz Arguelles School of Medicine.

He stated that the project is important in the construction of a health center that will be made up by the School of Medicine, university hospital and residence for the Cuban personnel.

Members of the Health Ministry of Guinea Bissau and the leadership of the Cuban medical brigade in the African nation also participated in the activity.
