Turkish Airlines Interested in Increasing Operations in Cuba

Turkish Airlines executive director, Bilal Eksi, expressed his company''s interest in expanding operations and direct flights to Cuba, diplomatic sources informed today.

During a meeting with the Cuban ambassador in this country, Luis Alberto Amorós, Eksi expressed the commitment of his company with the continuity of trips to Havana, initiated on December 20, 2016 with a frequency of three weekly.

He also announced his intentions to diversify operations in the Caribbean nation which, as he said, is considered a destination of great attraction throughout the world.

In that sense, both agreed on the existence of enormous potential to increase the connections of the airline in Cuba.

For his part, Amorós highlighted the considerable increase in recent months of Turkish tourism in his country, whose culture and values ​​generate sympathy among visitors.

Turkish Airlines was founded in 1933 with five aircraft and today its fleet has 334 aircraft and transports more than 60 million people.

The company flies to 119 countries and 290 destinations, and connects with 295 airports.
