Professionals graduated from the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) along with the Coordinator of Solidarity with Cuba in Chile promote activities aimed at raising funds for the island.

The damage caused by the recent Hurricane Irma and the severe damages that Cuba suffers as a result of the US blockade for over 50 years, are indisputable truths, Pedro Bronzic stated.

Bronzic along with his brother Juan and Dr. Carlos Lagos stand out among the greatest activists the Regional Coordinator of Santiago, associated with the doctors of the ELAM in a recent activity of remembrance to Ernesto Che Guevara.

For next Thursday, November 2, one day after the resolution that Cuba will present again at the United Nations in denouncing the blockade, the Solidarity and Life Cup will be held, a football match in a stadium in this capital.

The idea is to charge a symbolic entrance fee of 1,000 pesos (about two dollars), to enjoy a comparison between former players of the Audax Italian club and the Health Union, and offer a testimony of friendship with Cubans, Bronzic stressed.

The promotional poster of the event recalls the many times that the Caribbean island has aided Chile throughout history and invites to participate in the activity called 'Love with love is paid, Cuba is not alone.'

The Association of ELAM Doctors of the 5th Region (Valparaiso) opened several weeks ago an account in the State Bank to raise funds with a view to aiding Cuba to recover after Cyclone Irma.

On the other hand, the Chilean Movement of Solidarity with Cuba organizes the sending of the traditional South American Brigade, which will remain in the Island from January 21 to February 5 for relief work.
