Belarus is interested in the development of relations with the countries of Latin America. The corresponding statement was made by Alexander Lukashenko on the occasion of departure of Cuban ambassador, who ended his diplomatic mission to our country. Mr. Gerardo Suarez Alvarez actively promoted the dialogue between our countries. About 30 documents were signed in the field of education, economy, health-care, military and technical cooperation

The countries successfully implement agreements, for example, on mutual deliveries. Under this agreement, Cuba exports medicines to Belarus, and Belarus to Cuba agricultural machinery. For two and a half years the volume of mutual deliveries has reached 6 million dollars. They plan to activate scientific and technical cooperation and implement several joint projects in the field of bio-technologies and medicine. The Head of State thanked Gerardo Suarez Alvarez for his contribution to the development of bilateral relations and announced his possible visit to Cuba.

This year, Belarus and Cuba celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of dip relations. The absence of problems in the political relations of Minsk and Gavan is another important stimulus for cooperation. The republics support each other in the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations.
