The Argentina Cuba Solidarity Movement (MasCuba) restored the bust of the Argentinean-Cuban guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara in Moreno, in western Buenos Aires, which had been defiled in May.

Che's bust is at San Martin Square again and can be watched by pedestrians who had made that image their own since it was unveiled in 2002 at the solidarity movement's initiative and created by the sculptors Pablo and Martha Ibarra.

At an emotional ceremony where the national flags of the two sister nations were waved, social, political and union movements reaffirmed their support for and commitment to Che's ideals, and noted that their force is more present than ever today.

Singers and groups participated in the ceremony, during which they also demanded the immediate release of Milagro Sala, the Argentinean social leader who has been in prison for more than a year in Jujuy province.

Also present at the event were the third secretaries of the Cuban Embassy in Argentina, Leogel Delgado and Greter Alfonso, and Alberto Más and Oscar Verón, representatives of MasCuba and the Navegando con el Che platform.
