Holguin Ready to Welcome FitCuba 2017

Holguin is ready to host the 37th International Tourism Fair FitCuba-2017. Authorities here have spared no effort to show on behalf of all Cuba, the benefits and attributes of this developing tourist destination.

FitCuba, the most important event of the tourism sector in the Island scheduled from May 2 to 6, will have the participation of about two thousand participants including Canada, Mexico, Italy and Germany, as a guest country of honor and one of the most significant markets in the island.

As a prelude to the Fair and in honor of International Workers' Day, the Nocturno cabaret will reopened on May 1 with a special show, after undergoing a major repair that included the modernization of the facility´s design and technology.

The official opening will take place on Tuesday at the Playa Pesquero hotel, the main venue for professional exchange, business, exhibitions and presentation of new tourist packages, as well as services, hotel supplies and food products from 25 local suppliers, who will also participate in the event.

FitCuba 2017 also includes the presentation of Gibara (The White Villa of the Crabs) as a tourist destination, with the inauguration here of the 14 rooms Hotel Plaza Colón and the Club Náutico, while the Plaza bar and the fourth franchise of the Bodeguita del Medio de Cuba, will be opened in the city of Holguin.

The International Tourism Fair will run along with the Romerias de Mayo festival in Holguín, so that participants in FitCuba will participate in the opening parade of the party of young art, which for 24 years has been celebrated in this city.

The closing ceremony of FitCuba is announced for May 5 in Playa Guardalavaca.

Holguin with more than 5 500 rooms opens to the world and reaffirms its potential as one of the main tourist destinations of the country, predicting a growth of more than 64 000 vacancies by 2030.
