Mild Tremor Shakes Santiago de Cuba

The National Seismological Service (SSN) today recorded a perceptible earthquake of magnitude 4.5 degree on the Richter scale, with reports from various localities of this province and those of Guantanamo and Granma.

With the epicenter at 41 kilometers southwest of the Guantanamo village of Caimanera, the ninth tremor this year was detected at 10:42 local time, and had the coordinates 19.65 north latitude and 75.47 west longitude and a depth of 30.9 kilometers.

Without human or material damages, the quake was also felt in the municipalities of San Antonio del Sur and El Salvador, in Guantanamo, and Bartolomé Masó, Granma Province.
