The deputy ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cuba and Germany, Rogelio Sierra and Maria Bohmer, confirmed in Havana the good level of political and commercial relations between the two countries.

Sierra and Bohmer talked yesterday about issues of common interests and ratified the will of strengthening and expanding bilateral links.

Bohmer was accompanied by Regional Director of Latin America and the Caribbean, Ambassador Dieter Lamle, while Sierra was assisted by other two members of the office.

The visit of the German diplomat confirmed Germany’s interest of expanding its presence in the island now that there are more opportunities for foreign investment in some local economic fields.

Last months, board members from a dozen of German companies held talks with authorities of the Cuban government. They expressed their intention to open joint business in fields like construction, transportation, health services, and the industry.
