Ricardo Arjona gets tropical in new album

With a song dedicated to Havana, its first verses are already been broadcasted on the Mexican radio,  the Guatemalan singer Ricardo Arjona gets tropical in his new album.

Although the official release date is August 24th, the artist's representatives were forced to broadcast the first single, the song "Bridge", because "piracy" had prematurely placed information on the Internet.

A timer in days, hours and minutes presides Arjona’s official website on the Internet so his fans can follow the remaining time to release the album “Poquita ropa”.

This is his 15th production and, as he says, it is the album he has always wanted to do.

There are 12 songs that, in Arjona’s words, "as women, they look better with a little clothing because in little clothing inhabit the basic beauty of things, tired of the deceit of their size because of the garments excess.

"Poquita ropa" was recorded in various studios in New York, Los Angeles, and Mexico with musicians like Matt Rollins, Lee Levin, Brian Lang and Dan Warner, among others, who have worked with international artists like Celine Dion and Shakira.

"Havana, always in the halves, half Spanish, half African, waves know well there is a witness in each window, Havana," say the first lines of the song.

Curiously, the song is similar to one Argentine singer-songwriter Fito Páez did in 1999 entitled “Habana”.

Both artists staged a controversy recently when the Argentine singer lamented publicly in March in Buenos Aires that an artist like Arjona gives 35 concerts in the famous Luna Park and Charly García only two, and noted that "there are values that were destroyed".

The controversy was heating up as days passed by and the network was flooded with opinions against Páez and for Arjona and vice versa.

Guatemalan singer-songwriter answered Fito Páez with a letter which was published by the Argentine newspaper El Clarín, in which he criticized "his bold intellectual farce."

With a career of more than 15 years, the author of "Si el Norte fuera el Sur" carried out last year a world tour with the album "Quinto Piso” in 2008.
