Bolt: Main Attraction in Stockholm Meeting
Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, winner of three gold medals in Beijing 2008, will be the main attraction in the Stockholm meeting next August 6, announced today Rajne Soderberg, director of the qualifying match.
Bolt will participate in the 100m race for the first time this year, along with his fellow countryman Asafa Powell and North American Tyson Gay.
In the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Berlin in 2009, Bolt got the gold medal, Gay the silver medal and Powell the bronze.
This race in the Sweden city will include the best sprinters in history. Bolt is the present world record holder with 9.59 seconds, followed by Gay with 9.69 and Powell with 9.72.
Soderberg recalled to the British press that the last time Usain Bolt competed in Stockholm, before the Olympics, Powell won the race.
Bolt has defeated Gay in the two 100m races they have competed together. Powell, three-times Olympic champion, has won 8 times and lost just once, which occurred in Stockholm in 2008.
The three sprinters will compete in the diamond League next August 27 in Brussels.
