China Athlete Xiang to Doha Competition

Chinese athelete Liu Xiang, ex Olympic champion in 110 meters hurdles, will participate this week in the world indoor track championship in Doha, his first important international competition after recovering from an injure.

Liu travelled to Qatar's capital, where he will possibly compete in 60 meters hurdles with Cuban Dayron Robles, champion in 110 meters hurdles in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Coach Sun Haiping announced that his athlete is not in good shape and set as a goal making it to this competition's finals, scheduled from March 12-14.

The champion in Athens-2004 will participate with a recently-past performance that confirms his recovery after being forced to leave athletics tracks in the past Olympic Games, when he suffered a tendon injure.

That competition can confirm if Liu goes back to major athletics tracks as the great hurdler he was in other times.
